Dr. Goldberg is a trained clinical epidemiologist and health services researcher with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) screening, diagnosis, and linkage to care. Dr. Goldberg has received funding from the NIH and the pharmaceutical industry to study issues related to disparities in HCC screening, diagnosis, and prognostic modeling. Via several investigator-initiated research grants. Dr. Goldberg's NIH K08 Award and current NIH-funded R01 have a significant focus on issues related to access to care for patients with HCC, and risk prediction for pre- and post-transplant survival among patients with HCC. Dr. Goldberg has more than ten first- or senior-authored manuscripts related to HCC that includes several critical publications related to HCC surveillance and management, including issues related to access to the liver transplant waitlist for HCC.
