Chris is the Honorary President of the World Transplant Games Federation, representing 70 member countries from across the globe. The Federation aims to raise the profile of organ and tissue donation, principally through promoting the lives of those saved by the gift of life. It also promotes the full rehabilitation of transplant recipients and encourages all recipients to engage in a life commitment to exercise and physical activity.
Chris is also the CEO of Transplant Australia, a national charity advocating for improvements to Australia's organ donation system, promoting donation and caring for recipients.
Chris has a background in industry associations, including the Australian Medical Association and Advertising Federation of Australia. He began his working career as a journalist and was the Medical Reporter on Australia's pre-eminent newspaper, The Sydney Morning Herald.
He is married with three adult children. He and his wife, Helen, run a small hobby farm with two dogs, six chickens, a horse and 10 goats.
