Biography

Beatrice Concepcion is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, TN, USA. She is the Associate Medical Director of the Vanderbilt Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program and Medical Director of the Vanderbilt Kidney Transplant Outreach Clinics. Dr Concepcion graduated medical school with honors from the University of the Philippines, Manila, Philippines. After graduation, she moved to the USA and completed her internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and a transplant nephrology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has been a faculty of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine since 2013. She currently serves on the United States UNOS/OPTN Kidney Committee as a regional representative. She is also a member of the American Journal of Kidney Diseases (AJKD) Editorial Board, a visual abstract editor for the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology and a Social Media Ambassador of Transplantation Journal. Her research interests include improving long-term kidney transplant outcomes and increasing access to transplantation through the use of telemedicine.
